Pure Acoustic Music at the Foot of Europe’s Most Iconic Peak
Co-founded in 2007 by Heinz Julen and Thomas Sterchi, Zermatt Unplugged has evolved into Europe’s highest caliber acoustic festival. Rather than overwhelming spectators with giant stadium rigs, the festival requires world-renowned artists to perform unplugged or stripped-down arrangements inside intimate Swiss pine chalets, heated marquees, and at high-altitude mountain huts.
Because Zermatt is completely car-free, festivalgoers move silently through snow-dusted cobblestone streets on foot or via electric hotel electro-taxis, accompanied only by the rush of the Mattervispa river.
